The second release from the Mint's Fire Engines of the World Series, this coin depicts a Soviet AA-60 Airfield Fire Engine. The Soviet-built fire engine, which is depicted in colour, appears inside a stylised fire-hose and the words FIRE ENGINES OF THE WORLD. Deployed between 1973 and 1982 to fight fires on aircraft and inside airfield buildings, the AA-60 was equipped with an 11,000 or 12,000 litre water tank and a 900 litre reservoir for foam, as well as a specially designed 60hp pump.
